I recently moved back to the Seattle area after spending a decade living in Europe (Madrid and Amsterdam). This experience navigating life in another culture and language provided me with a firsthand understanding of the challenges that come with living a life that spans cultures, languages, and countries. I've been working with the international community for the past 5 years and my clients include expatriates, immigrants, diplomats, adult Third Culture Kids, and other globally mobile professionals.
I have my PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology and firmly believe in the importance of evidence-based interventions. My approach with coaching clients relies on Acceptance and Commitment Coaching, which is a methodology that has been adapted from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It aims to help clients clarify what deeply matters to them in their personal and professional lives, and to learn strategies to effectively interact with the thoughts and feelings that may hold them back from that which is important to them. I also incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion in helping my clients to achieve their goals, and am committed to my own practices of mindfulness and self-compassion. I'm currently a Teacher-in-Training for the evidence-based Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program.
