Day 1: Baby Steps 😔

Speaking about trauma, no matter how little or big you perceive it, it can be difficult to share, so today we will start with small questions. Take 3 deep breaths and press record when you feel ready to begin your journey.

  • Firstly, what have you learned so far or heard about what a traumatic event is?

  • In a few sentences, try and describe how this definition relates to you and your situation.

  • When and where did this traumatic event happen? Were you aware it was traumatic at the time?

  • What was your reaction immediately after the traumatic event happened?

  • How do you feel about this experience today?

That is all for today. Thank you for taking the time to detail events that might be uncomfortable or difficult to remember. Remember this is a 7-part journey so don't pressure yourself if you feel uneasy at the moment. Now try to unwind by taking a few deep breaths until you feel calm.

"There is no timestamp on trauma. There isn't a formula you can insert yourself into to get from horror to healed. Be patient. Take up space. Let your journey be the balm." - Dawn Sierra

Talk to you tomorrow and, in the meantime, be kind to yourself. ❤️
