Day 5: Future Outlook 🧐
Hi again! Today we will take a look into the future to see where you would want to be in a few years, months or even days, and learn about what's holding your back. Remember that the future doesn't necessarily have to be overwhelming. Thinking about our dreams, goals and desires can help us gain perspective to make small meaningful behavioral changes in the present. Press the record button when you're ready to talk.
Start by describing a future where your trauma is fully healed and is a distant memory. How does this feel?
What is something you often think about you know is actually not true? Why do you gravitate towards this thought even when you know it's not a highly probable outcome?
How is your traumatic event holding you back from experiencing intense joy and achieving your goals? Does that it have to be this way?
Think about a "safe space". What does it look like? How does it feel? How can you create or find that safe space today?
Do you think you can leverage your personal experience to help others in a similar situation? How so?
Whether thinking about a safe space and the future has made you feel excited or more overwhelmed, remember all these are just options and life will always keep surprising us. The healing work will help you stay open to any new positive opportunities for you in the horizon.
"The trauma mindset makes you feel that if you stop feeding it, you won't survive. This is a lie. Only when you stop feeding it you can thrive." - Samantha Camargo
Take a moment to rest, breathe and relax. See you tomorrow!
