Day 6: Inner Peace 😉

Hello! Today we will focus on practicing coping mechanisms to find inner peace. At times it might be hard to focus on any positives, other days we feel our bravest and ready to face our fears, and those ups and downs can be taxing on our mental wellbeing. It's important to remember that this is a journey, so reverting back to finding inner peace is the best way to find balance as we continue healing.

"To be calm is the highest achievement of the self" - Zen Proverb

For this exercise, try to find a calm place and take a few deep breaths. If you can be around nature even better! Then press "record" on your Journify app when you're ready.

  • You've made it this far despite your trauma. List all the actions you've taken or challenges you've overcome that make you feel proud of yourself.

  • Close your eyes for a moment. Now think about small things around you that others may not have and you're grateful for.

  • What are all the things you can control in your life at the moment?

  • Is there any negativity you can actually remove from your life today? Or positivity you could add?

  • What are the best qualities in yourself that, despite your trauma, is still remain as part of who you are?

  • Think about a tangible, small and achievable goal you WILL accomplish before the end of this week.

It's normal if you passively go through cycles of negative feelings. Negative self-talk is human, so feel free to come back to this exercise every time you need to take a step back and find your inner peace again.
