Day 7: Practicing Acceptance 🙏🏼

Embracing what happened to you but not let it define you is one the hardest things you'll strive to do in your life. But, without accepting the events and changes that life throws at us, we can't fulfill our healing journey. Acceptance is about embracing what we can't control in order for us to exercise full control on everything else (our actions, our emotions, our decisions).

“Self acceptance is the process of being where we are long enough to appreciate where we have been and where we are headed” - Dr. Christina Hibbert

Whenever you are ready, please press "record" on your Journify app.

  • What are some changes in your belief system and values that are part of the new YOU?

  • What are some lessons you've learned from your traumatic experience that you are grateful for?

  • Do you feel like you still need to forgive yourself for anything? Why do you think that's the case?

  • What would you tell yourself if you were a third person? Try talking to yourself as if you were giving advice to a friend.

  • Are you ready to talk about this journey and where you are at in your healing process with anyone else in your life? Who is this person and why do you think it's important for them to know?

  • What will you tell yourself in moments where your triggers start kicking in again? Feel free to include learnings, advice or your favorite positive affirmations.

Thank you for taking the time to reflect with us this past week. It is thanks to brave people like you who want to do the hard work of healing that we are inspired by at Journify. However, remember your journey doesn't end here. This was just the first step! Honor yourself from time to time to acknowledge how far you've come.

Please reach out to us via DM at @journifyco or email us at contact@journify.co if you have any questions or need additional support. We're here for you! Also, please keep using the app as long as it proves to be helpful to you in the process.

"What you resist, persists. What you accept, transforms." - Shamash Alidina

Thank you again for being brave! 💪🏼 Sending you our most positive vibes for the rest of your healing journey.
